Homebuyer Education Workshop

Thursday, Mar 16, 2017 -

Time: 6:00pm - 10:00pm

For families dreaming of owning their own home, but uncertain about how to make that dream a reality, the Central Nebraska Housing and Economic Developers will conduct a REACH-Approved Homebuyer Education Workshop in Ord in March.  This workshop will be held at the Ord Housing Authority on March 16 & 23, from 6-10pm both evenings.  Participants are required to attend both evenings to receive a certificate of completion.

The Homebuyer Education Workshop, designed to take the uncertainty out of the homebuying process, will take families step by step through the process, from deciding whether homeownership is right for them, to shopping for a house that meets their needs, obtaining a home mortgage, closing the sale, maintaining the house after it's theirs, and successfully handling their mortgage obligation.

The cost of the workshop is $50 per person, which covers books and materials. Pre-registration is required.

CNHED has a down payment assistance program, and participation in a REACH-certified workshop is a requirement for applying for these funds or other down payment assistance, as well as to qualify for low-interest mortgage loans.  To participate in these special programs, all persons to be listed on the property deed must complete Homebuyer Education.

To sign up for this workshop, or to inquire about future workshop, please contact Melissa Krysl at 402-340-6464 or via e-mail at melissa.krysl@cnedd.org or visit the CNHED Website.
